ASN has virtually reached gender parity in its headcount, with 48.6% women and 51.4% on its staff as at 31 December 2022.
On the occasion of the International Women's Day, ASN testifies through the voice of five of its staff members: five women who exercise functions in the inspection activities (nuclear safety and medical radiation protection), in information technology and managerial functions (on the ASN Commission and a regional division). Five strong personalities who express with sincerity their career choices, their convictions, and values, and look back on the motivations behind their commitment in the ASN teams - for science, for technology or general interest.
For several years now, ASN – like other players in the nuclear sector – has been involved in the promotion actions to foster professional equality; the safety authorities, foremost among which stands ASN, have committed themselves to parity. Bernard Doroszczuk, Chairman of ASN, actively participates in the international group on gender equality in the nuclear sector regulatory bodies.
Equality between women and men is part of an ambitious strategy that hinges around the dissemination of a culture of equality between women and men, the representation of women within the governance bodies, being attentive to the equality of treatment in the HR processes, and better reconciliation of private and working life.
The testimonials set out below contribute to the effort made to present the possibilities of women having access to positions of responsibility, the need for which was underlined by the ASN personnel through an internal survey.
