The United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR)

Created in 1955, the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation periodically draws up syntheses of all the international scientific data on the sources and risks of radiation for the environment and health. It proposes risk estimates and the results of this work are used by other organisations to propose dose limits and radiation protection measures.

This activity is supervised by the annual meeting of the national representatives of the member States comprising high-level experts, to which ASN Commissioners Ms Tirmarche and Mr Bourguignon are invited.
