The french national report prepared for the second extraordinary meeting of the Convention on Nuclear Safety is posted on ASN website.
Information notice
As decided during the review meeting of the Convention on Nuclear Safety (CNS) held in April 2011, an extraordinary meeting of the CSN will take place in Vienna from August 27 to 31, 2012. One major objective is to review and share the lessons learned and the steps taken by the CSN Contracting Parties in response to the events of the accident that struck the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant (NPP).
As part of this extraordinary meeting, a national report was issued by each of the Contracting Parties. It presents and describes the measures taken or envisaged, along with the scheduled completion dates.
The French report, coordinated by ASN, summarises the measures taken by France after the Fukushima-Daiichi accident. It comprises 6 chapters, each corresponding to one of the 6 predetermined topics: external events, design studies, severe accident management and recovery (on-site), national organisations, emergency and post-accident situation organisation (off-site) and international cooperation.
It is based primarily on the results of the stress tests performed by the licensees, on the analyses carried out by the various relevant ASN divisions, as drawn up by ASN and included in its Complementary safety assessment report given to the Prime Minister on 3 January 2012.
